— Jury selection started this morning in the trial of a 24-year-old man charged with attempted murder in Fairborn.
Dustin Scott Cochran is in Judge Michael Buckwalter’s courtroom as his trial gets underway.
Jury selection is expected to last through the morning with opening statements expected this afternoon, according to court officials.
Cochran is charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, felonious assault, endangering children and domestic violence, according to Greene County court records.
The charges stem from an August 2018 incident at a home in the 200 block of Madison Street, Fairborn. The Regional Emergency Response Team responded after the defendant barricaded himself inside with two children, ages 1 and 2, according to the statement of facts on file with Fairborn Municipal Court.
