Tree smashes into house in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — A tree has smashed into a house this evening amid high winds across the region.

No injuries were reported when the tree struck the house around 5:45 p.m. in the 500 block of West Southern  Avenue in Springfield.

A city building inspector was called to check the house.
