— Numerous organizations throughout the Miami Valley are planning free meals to assist victims of Monday night’s tornadoes.
TODAY: (Saturday, June 8) Bold Believers Church of Christ, 1306 Salem Avenue, will have two semis full of goods from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will have food, water, personal care items and cleaning items. There will be an application to fill out so make sure to bring your ID.
Dayton: Sinclair Community College will host a free Sunday Dinner on June 9 for families impacted by the tornadoes. The dinner will be held in Building 12, The Great Hall from noon - 3 p.m. There is free parking under Building 12.
Fairborn: Victory Church 2443 Valle Green Drive, Fairborn; 937-878-1620. Free hot meals, free hygiene items for tornado victims and volunteer workers daily 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
Dayton: The House of Bread, 9 Orth Ave. in Dayton, is serving hot lunches every day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Restrooms and drinking water on site.
Dayton: Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team is hosting free meals at Northridge Church of Christ, 2211, Needmore Rd. Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1p.m. to 4 p.m.
Vandalia: Flying J Travel Center, 175 Northwoods Blvd., has food and showers for victims of the tornadoes. The travel center is open 24-hours a day and plans to provide assistance until no longer needed.
Beavercreek: Tik’s Thai Express, 2808 Colonel Glenn Hwy., will distribute coupons on Saturday, June 1 to the hardest hit areas of Beavercreek. The coupon can be redeemed by victims and their family and friends assisting them with relief efforts for a buffet lunch any weekday beginning Monday June, 3 for the duration of the need.
Dayton: Free lunches will held in the parking lot of the Steam Plant, 617 E. Third St., Monday, June 3 - Thursday, June 6 at noon until food runs out.
Dayton: Gospel Mission Inc., 64 Burns Ave., Dayton, will serve full course meals daily. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday meals are served at 11 :30 a.m., on Tuesday and Thursday meals are served at 5 p.m. and on Sunday meals are served at 2 p.m.
Trotwood: Holy Temple Church of God, 489 S. Broadway St., will serve hot meals from noon to 8 p.m. every day. Toiletry kits and other supplies will be available.
Dayton: Osman Gazi Mosque at 1508 Valley Street is offering food, water and hygiene and household items at a stand, open every day from 9 a.m. until sundown.
Fairborn: Victory Church, 2443 Valle Greene Drive, will offer hot meals to the community 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 1 and 1-7 p.m. the next several days.
Dayton: SVG Motors and Evans Cattle Company will hold a joint cookout at the SVG Motors dealership at 400 Shoup Mill Road in Dayton from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today, and a second cookout at the SVG dealership at 3415 Seajay Drive in Beavercreek from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. After eating residents can receive a supply of paper towels, toilet paper, bottled water and frozen beef patties.
