Two people inside the car were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries, according to police.

An initial investigation found the driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to crash into the structure.

An official from the senior center said the damage will force the building to close until Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The building did have significant structural damage and had to be partially evacuated, according to police.

Tipp City firefighters were able to stabilize the building to prevent further structural collapse.
