Teen pleads guilty to charges in deadly shooting of Centerville teen in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY — A third teen in the case involving the deadly shooting of a Centerville teen on Oregonia Road last year has pleaded guilty to charges.

Kayla Carmack pleaded guilty by way of bill of information to involuntary manslaughter for her role in the shooting of Mason Trudics, 18, of Centerville, in December 2019.

She will be sentenced to 10 to 13.5 years in prison, prosecutors said.

Earlier this year, Jackson Pelphrey pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Investigators said Pelphrey, Carmack and three other teens lured an 18-year-old to a home on Oregonia Road. When the group tried to rob the 18-year-old, the 18-year-old pulled out a gun and shot Trudics and another teen. The other teen who was shot survived.

Jacob Hicks also was sentenced to four years in juvenile detention earlier this month for his role in the shooting.

Cases are still pending for Dakota Cox and Logan Dean
