According to preliminary investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, a teen driving a black 2006 Toyota Corolla was headed east on Children’s Home Bradford Road. Deputies said the teen stopped at the state Route 49 intersection, but failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a northbound white 2007 Cadillac Escalade driven by Michael Boehringer, 49, of Union City, Indiana.

The impact forced the Corolla to spin and hit the front bumper of a blue 2017 Honda CR-V, driven by 64-year-old Marilyn Jenkins of Union City, Ind., that was stopped at the intersection.

The juvenile driver, whose name was not released, was treated at the scene.

A female passenger in the Cadillac was taken to Wayne Health for treatment of injuries that did not appear life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
