This paving program includes West Perrin Avenue, which has potholes ]most people are forced to drive around while some avoid the street altogether.

“Anytime there’s a rain, it’s like a swimming pool out there,” said West Perrin Avenue resident Angela Spencer. “I appreciate the cooperation the City has given us in getting this taken care of – at last.”

The situation isn’t much better on the north side of town on Harding Road.

“The street probably hasn’t been repaved in years so it was showing its age,” said resident Joe Lewis who lives on East Harding Road. “It’s just about having patience.”

The city just released that these two streets will be part of the 2019 Neighborhood Street Program.

“With the passage of the income tax increase, we were able to commit to the public a minimum of two million dollars to go towards neighborhood streets,” said City Manager Bryan Heck. “We are dedicated to the task of doing all we can to better the lives of our residents by improving neighborhoods and maintaining our infrastructure.”

This work will begin in March and continue through the summer. The streets in the paving project include:

  • El Camino Drive
  • Fulton Avenue
  • East Harding Road
