Shots fired near apartments in Dayton, report says

DAYTON — Residents of Western Manor Apartments in Dayton reportedly heard multiple gunshots fired in the area Tuesday evening, police say.

Police were dispatched around 10:50 p.m. to the apartments located on North James H. McGee Boulevard, according to a Dayton police report.

On scene, security officers notified police that at least 10 gunshots were fired, and that a vehicle left the scene at a high speed. Police discovered four bullet casings about 20 feet from the residence, read the report.

Police said, people nearby were reluctant to disclose any information. The suspected vehicle that fled the scene was described as a white Chevrolet Cobalt LS, read the report.
