The body of the 26-year-old was discovered Friday afternoon in the Glen Helen Nature Preserve.

Fischer said Clark’s body was wounded and appeared to be dumped east of where his body was found.

“We believe high water carried Mr. Clark's body down stream,” Fischer said.

Lonya Clark had been missing from the village of Yellow Springs since Jan. 13. Multiple searches were conducted, including the use of dogs by the Buckeye Search & Rescue group.

Fischer said it appeared Clark’s body was also snagged on some debris along the river in the area of Grinnell Road, where the body was discovered Friday around 3:30 p.m. by mushroom hunters.

“I just found a body.  It’s been here a while,” a 911 caller told Greene County dispatchers. “This is not what you expect to find when you’re out wandering in the woods.”

The 911 caller was one of three people who discovered Clark’s body.

According to the caller, Clark’s body was clothed with a red and black flannel, black or camouflage pants and wading boots.

The last time anyone had any contact with Clark was on Jan. 13, according to the Yellow Springs police chief.

Anyone who may have information on Clark’s case can contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 937-562-4819.
