Reports: 2 detained, shot fired during armed robbery at Dayton convenience store

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 8:45 a.m.: 

Two people have been detained in handcuffs following a reported armed robbery at the Wyoming Mini Mart in Dayton Thursday morning, according to dispatch records.

According to a 911 call, an employee reported the robbery around 7:30 a.m. and said he fought with one of the robbers who jumped the counter.

“They didn't take away anything because I tried to fight them. He tried to jump the counter, but I was trying to fight him,” the employee reported.

“I tried to get my machete out, but it was hidden,” the caller said.

The employee said both robbers had masks and gloves on and displayed a gun during the robbery.

Police scanner traffic indicates a witness reported at least one shot was fired during the robbery.

No injuries have been initially reported.

Witnesses reported a shot was fired during an armed robbery at a Dayton convenience store on Wyoming Street, according to initial reports.

The armed robbery was reported at the Wyoming Mini Mart in the 1800 block of Wyoming Street around 7:35 a.m.

Reports indicate two robbers entered the store, both wearing masks and gloves, and robbed the store.

A witness told police a shot was fired inside the store during the robbery, according to police scanner traffic.

No injuries have been initially reported.
