The victim, who talked to this news outlet by phone and is not being identified by this news organization, said he heard a loud crash in another part of the house while he was sitting in his bedroom reading.

By the time he went to check the house, two men were inside and pointed a gun at him, the victim said.

“I asked them ‘What are you doing?’ (The robbers) told me to ‘lay down flat’ and started to ransack the house,” the victim said.

The man said the robbers kept asking about a safe in his home, but said he didn’t have one.

The victim said he has lived in his home for 50 years but he didn’t know why his house was been targeted.

“I have no idea; none whatsoever,” he said.

The victim estimated the men were in his house for about 15 minutes before fleeing on foot, then driving away.

No significant items of value were stolen from the house outside of a small amount of cash and his cell phone, according to the victim.

Police on scene did not provide additional details about their investigation.
