Hot temperatures force extra crews to handle Miamisburg house fire

MIAMISBURG — Hot and humid conditions forced firefighters to call for extra crews to battle a house fire at a duplex in Miamisburg Wednesday morning, according to firefighters.

Firefighters were called around 11:15 a.m. to the 400 block of North Fourth Street and reported heavy smoke and flames were coming from the structure.

Firefighters were able to contain it and put out the fire quickly with assistance from several crews, Miamisburg Fire Battalion Chief Jim Baber said.

“Crews did an excellent job with help from West Carrollton Fire Department,” he said.

Baber said they had to rotate crews in and out because of the heat.

“We recycled everybody through, kept an eye on them the whole time, a lot of water,” he said. “We tried to ease the burden as much has we could.”

A Miamisburg police officer told our news crew there were no reported injuries.
