Reports: Driver swims to shore after crashing car into pond in Fairborn

FAIRBORN — Tow crews removed a car from a pond Thursday morning after a driver crashed and submerged the vehicle near a Fairborn hotel.

The crash was first reported around 6:15 a.m. near the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Fairborn, in the area of University Boulevard and Presidential Drive.

Emergency scanner traffic indicates the driver was able to get out of the car and swam to shore. It was not clear if the driver suffered any injuries.

Potential factors in the crash were not released.

Tow crews removed the submerged car from the pond around 8:30 a.m.
