Report: 11-year-old boy finds mom unconscious from apparent OD

An 11-year-old boy found his mother unconscious and unresponsive from an apparent overdose after she didn’t meet him at the bus stop after school Tuesday, according to a Dayton police report.

When the boy found his mother in a bedroom at their home, he called his father who then called 911.

When officers responded the scene Shaftesbury Road, medics were already administering Narcan to the woman.

The boy’s father, who does not live at the home, told police that the woman usually meets their son at the bus stop, according to the report.

When his mother was not there, the boy walked home.

While searching the home, officers reportedly could not find any edible food, other than condiments. Officers noted that the home did have heat and running water.

The boy’s father was given care and custody of him until further arrangements could be made.

They boy’s mother regained consciousness at the home and denied taking any narcotics, according to the report.

She was taken to Grandview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

No drug paraphernalia was found in the home and no charges were filed against the mother.
