Oakwood police chase ends in crash in Riverside; Suspect ID’d

UPDATE @ 6:25  p.m.

A 38-year-old man was arrested by Oakwood police in the 3100 block of Plawfield Road in Riverside.

Police would not release his identity, but Montgomery County Jail records show that David Montgomery was arrested by Oakwood police at 11:44 a.m. and booked at 1:40 p.m. on suspicion of failure to comply with a police officer; receiving stolen property, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and possession of drug abuse instruments.

A man was Tasered and taken into custody following a police pursuit that started in Oakwood.

Oakwood police attempted to stop a vehicle with a stolen license plate when the man refused to stop, according to investigators. He had a warrant for his arrest and was driving a stolen vehicle.

Oakwood police were involved in a chase on North Main Street, which eventually ended off Plawfield Road in Riverside, according to initial reports.

The chase was reported around 11:40 a.m.

We’re hearing police may have captured one person, but are working to confirm that report.

The chase reportedly went onto U.S. 35, before exiting onto Woodman Drive and heading through a nearby neighborhood, according to reports.
