Fire destroys one barn, damages second in Perry Twp.

PERRY TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @ 11 a.m. 

One barn was completely destroyed and a second barn sustained damage after a fire broke out Wednesday morning.

Fire crews responded to the 11000 block of Providence Pike in Perry Twp. around 9 a.m. on initial reports of smoke in the area.

Investigators said the fire spread from the first barn to an adjacent one that stored high-end farm equipment. The second barn sustained some smoke and fire damage, but is not believed to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire was unknown and is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters are on the scene of a reported barn fire on Providence Pike this morning.

The fire was reported in the 11000 block around 9 a.m. and initial reports indicated smoke was showing from the scene.
