Rebuilding Together Dayton helping to clean up local neighborhood

Community projects are taking place throughout Dayton for the 24th Annual National Rebuilding Day.

Work will include revitalizing the Old Greencastle Cemetery, cleaning up the streets and alleyways and demolishing some detached garages.

Fourteen homeowners from the Edgemont neighborhood are also receiving $250,000 worth of free home repairs, and the American Red Cross is offering free smoke detector installations in those homes.

Participants include Leadership Dayton from the Dayton Chamber, Rebuilding Together Dayton, University of Dayton football players, the Nicholas Residential Treatment center and others who are helping to clean up the community.
