Rain showers return tonight; Flood Watch goes into effect for parts of the region tomorrow

A Flood Watch has been issued for Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties and Union and Wayne counties, Ind. from 8 p.m. Thursday until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

DETAILED FORECAST:

TONIGHT: Showers at times and cloudy with increasing winds. Some gusts up to 30mph. Heavy rain, few storms arrive from the north before sunrise. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Heavy rain and storms will develop from north to south through the day. Highs in the middle 60s. Localized heavy rain possible. Gusty winds up to 30mph. More rain and a few storms return from the south Friday night.

FRIDAY: Heavy rain and storms continue, especially south of I-70. Rain will be widespread again in the evening and overnight. 2-5inches could fall at this will lead to flooding of streets, creeks, streams and the rivers to rise a bit. Highs will be a bit cooler, around 50 degrees.

SATURDAY: Widespread rain will shift northeast through the day. Highs around 60. We will dry out into the late afternoon. It will be a windy day with gusts near 40-50mph. Due to saturated ground and strong winds, a few trees may come down. That could potentially lead to a few sporadic power outages. Rivers will be cresting Saturday into Sunday.

SUNDAY: A dry day. Highs in the upper 50s. Few showers are possible at night.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of a passing shower. Highs in the upper 50s.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few more showers possible. Highs in the upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy and mild with a high in the lower 50s.
