DETAILED FORECAST:

TONIGHT: Storm Tracking Alert for the potential for severe weather on Thursday. Thursday afternoon, an approaching area of low pressure will spark off a quick moving line of showers and storms.

These storms have the potential to be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center is indicating a level 3 out of 5 severe weather risk for much of the Miami Valley.

The main threat will be damaging wind gusts, but some small hail and/or a brief spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out.

The window of opportunity for these storms is between 3 and 6 p.m. It won’t feel like a “severe weather day” with high temperatures only in the upper 50s, but don’t let your guard down. Breezy today with gusts to 30 to 40 mph even outside of storms.

FRIDAY: Some flurries or light snow showers, especially early in the day. Mostly cloudy and cold with highs in the middle 30s. Staying breezy.

SATURDAY: A dry and cold day. Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 20s.

SUNDAY: Snow showers move into the Miami Valley during the predawn hours on Sunday.

This snow may initially accumulate lightly before warmer air moves in changing precipitation over to a mix or all rain. High temperatures will be well above freezing Sunday afternoon in the upper 30s, so road issues should stay limited.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy and cold in the upper 20s early. Highs in the upper 30s which is normal. Few flurries may linger into early Monday

TUESDAY: Cold and cloudy. Highs in the low 40s. Another storm will push in and bring a mix of rain and snow to the area overnight

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy and cold, with a chance for either snow or rain. Highs in the upper 30s.
