Police say the pursuit started after the woman, who was also driving the car, failed to stop for a traffic violation on Brandt Pike and Cosner Drive. She allegedly failed to use a turn signal and had a lane change violation.

The chase began just after 1:30 a.m. with the driver going south on Brandt Pike passing Chambersburg and Fishburg Roads.

Speeds reached up to 80 mph during the pursuit, with officers attempting to use StopSticks around the Chambersburg Road area, but the driver avoided them.

Authorities say the driver tried to lose them in a local neighborhood, but the vehicle ended up going off the road, hitting a tree, and spinning out into the front yard of a home in the 5700 block of Brandt Pike.

There was another woman in the car at the time of the pursuit, but only the driver was taken into custody.

The driver, whose name was not released, is currently in Montgomery County Jail. Charges she’ll face were not immediately released. We’re told she also has warrants.
