Pursuit ends near West Riverview Avenue in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @2:40 p.m.

A vehicle involved in a pursuit was stolen and suspected of being connected to multiple crimes in the Dayton area, according to police.

The pursuit ended on West Riverview Avenue when the driver lost control and hit a tree in a yard. The driver bailed and ran toward a creek, police said.

The driver was arrested after a foot pursuit.

A man who reportedly fled from Dayton police and led them on a chase has been captured after running from his vehicle, according to initial emergency dispatch traffic.

Numerous officers responded to the area of the 2500 block of West Riverview Avenue around 2:10 p.m.

Police were chasing the man on at least two different occasions, including the areas of James H. McGee Boulevard, Philadelphia Drive and Gettysburg Avenue, before he was captured, initial dispatch traffic indicated.
