Driver bails after pursuit involving OSP ends on Ohio 444 in Fairborn

FAIRBORN — A driver who led state troopers on a pursuit from Dayton into Fairborn fled the pursuit vehicle once the chase ended on Ohio 444 Friday morning.

Officials say the pursuit started on Interstate 75 near Ohio 4 as a routine traffic stop around 2:26 a.m. with speeds reaching up to 100 mph.

The pursuit ended when the driver stopped the vehicle behind a Valero gas station at the corner of Ohio 444 near Dayton Yellow Springs Road and fled from authorities.

State troopers, Fairborn police, authorities from WPAFB and a K-9 unit searched the area for the driver, but were unsuccessful in locating the individual.

A tow truck transported the suspect’s car away from the scene.
