Preble Co. home destroyed in morning fire

A Preble County home is believed to be a total loss after fire damaged the structure early Monday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Quinn Road around 1:40 a.m. on reports of a fully involved house fire.

West Alexandria Fire Chief Jeff Shafer said all occupants were able to exit the house before firefighters arrived. Shafer said the home’s security system aided in alerting the family of the fire and getting them out in time.

The occupants of the home will stay with relatives in West Alexandria, Shafer said.

The cause of the blaze is unknown. Damage to the house is estimated up to $300,000 and is considered a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters in Preble County have responded to a reported fully involved structure fire on Quinn Road early Monday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the 600 block of Quinn Road around 1:45 a.m. on a possible structure fire, and reported heavy smoke and flames on arrival.

It was not immediately clear if the structure was believed to be occupied or abandoned.
