A 57-year-old Preble County man is free on bond after formal charges were filed in court accusing him on four drug-related charges stemming from a Sept. 13 traffic stop.
Russell Grubb of West Alexandria is accused of felony drug possession, trafficking, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson said in a prepared statement released Tuesday.
The charges filed Monday in Eaton Municipal Court arose from the traffic stop, which took place about 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the 4300 block of U.S. 127, north of Eaton. A narcotics K-9 unit alerted to the vehicle once deputies said they saw criminal indicators, the sheriff said.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately (29) grams of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, meth pipes, $749 in cash, a drug ledger and a loaded .357 revolver in the vehicle’s passenger compartment.
Deputies estimate the street value of the meth to be approximately $2,000.
