DAYTON, Ohio — Police said a 4-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital after drinking soda spiked with vodka.
Officers said the child's mother made the mixed drink in a blue child's cup and when she did not drink it, the child did.
According to police, the child's blood alcohol level was over the legal limit.
Officers and paramedics were called to the Cornell Drive home on Sunday morning after they received a 911 call about a 4-year-old who was passed out.
Police said the drink was mixed in a little kids cup, and the child found the drink in the fridge.
Medics took the child to Children's Medical Center, where officers said the child could not walk without help. They said his eyes were glassy and that his head bobbed back and forth.
According to police, the boy recovered.
Officers said Children's Services are involved in the investigation.
