Police said Kettering Boulevard will remain closed and DP&L is not able to give an estimated time when they could respond.  Hundreds of DP&L workers continue to work to restore power to thousands of customers in the region who lost electric service in Thursday’s ice storm.

FIRST REPORT

Traffic issues on some main roadways in Centerville and Moraine could block roads for an unknown amount of time due to the high number of DP&L calls for power outages from Thursday’s ice storm.

On West Spring Valley Road at South Main Street in Centerville, a crash reported around 9:30 a.m. Friday severely damaged a pole near the intersection, according to police.

Centerville police initially told this news outlet it was unknown when a DP&L crew was going to be able to respond to fix the damaged pole. However, our crew reports four DP&L crews were on the scene working to make repairs.

Additional details about the crash were not available.

In Moraine, officers are dealing with a similar issue after a light pole was damaged and is leaning over the road on Kettering Boulevard Friday morning.

Police added Kettering Boulevard could be blocked for hours, or maybe days, until DP&L is able to respond and fix the pole.

Thousands remain without power in the region after the ice storm moved through the area Thursday. DP&L previously said the power outage restoration project would be a “multi-day event.”

We’ll continue to update this story as new details become available.
