Police locate person wounded in Dayton shooting; no one in custody

The person wounded in the shooting on Bancroft Street in Dayton Monday afternoon is in a hospital and police are attempting an interview.

The shooting was reported around 12:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of Bancroft. The victim was reportedly running down the street following the shooting.

According to Dayton police, the person wounded had a handgun. There has been no word about the severity of the person’s injuries or the circumstances of the shooting.

No one has been taken into custody, we’re hearing.
