Driver, 18, injured in rollover crash on Ohio 49 in Trotwood

An 18-year-old who told authorities he was unfamiliar with Salem Avenue has been taken to a hospital after he rolled his minivan near Olive Road in Trotwood, Clayton Fire Chief Michael Seagraves said.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Seagraves said the driver was headed south on Salem when he crossed the center line, continued across the median and into the northbound lanes, entered a yard, hit a ditch and rolled.

The accident was dispatched about 9:30 p.m. and a witness told us the vehicle came to rest on its side.

Salem Avenue (Ohio 49 North) is being shut down between Olive Road and Westbrook Road at least an hour for the investigation.

We will update this developing report as we learn more.
