Shooting victim dies, identified after wounded in Springfield parking lot

The victim that was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a shooting on Selma Road has died, according to Springfield police.

Keith C. Wooster, 22, of Springfield, was shot in the head in the 900 block of Selma Road around 10 p.m.

When crews arrived, Wooster had a faint pulse and was still breathing. He was taken to Springfield Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

A firearm was recovered from the scene and officers found several shell casings of unknown caliber.

Investigators continue their search for the shooter.

Police said they are not yet sure whether the incident involved a robbery or some sort of altercation. Initial reports indicate shots may have been fired from a vehicle that sped away from the scene.
