2 arrested after carjacking, police pursuit in Dayton Monday night

DAYTON — Two people were arrested after a carjacking and police pursuit that started near Centerfield Flats Monday night.

Police responded to the 200 block of Sears Street just after 10 p.m., according to the Dayton Police Department.

The vehicle then fled and police attempted to pursue it to apprehend the suspects but were unable to keep up with it on I-75 due to the “erratic driving behavior” and traffic, the police department said.

A witness reported the incident after they saw the stolen car crash and the suspects flee from the scene.

Officers responded to the area and immediately arrested the juvenile male driver and the adult male passenger.

A police report shows that 25-year-old Muhammad Ali Sabree was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

The gun used in the robbery was recovered from the vehicle, according to police.

The vehicle was damaged and a removed from the scene by a tow truck.
