A large hole is in a wall of a Fairborn apartment building after a young child drove a truck into it Saturday morning.

The white pickup truck crashed into the apartment building at 224 Orville Street at about 10 a.m. Building inspectors have been requested to the scene.

Fairborn police said a 6-year-old was operating the truck when it smashed through the building's wall. The boy and his 4-year-old brother were taken to an area hospital, the Fairborn Police Department said.

A family member said the 4-year-old was treated for minor injuries and released on Saturday. The 6-year-old boy spent the weekend in the ICU for head trauma and is still recovering in the hospital on Monday.

None of the apartment's residents were injured in the crash, a spokesperson for the apartment complex said.

The two boys took the keys to the truck while their mother and her boyfriend were asleep in the apartment, Fairborn police said. The boys hit a pole with truck before crashing through the wall. Police plan to file charges, but investigators have not determined what charges the couple will face.
