Piqua organizations, police department awarded more than $65K in grants

PIQUA — Multiple organizations that help serve the residents of Piqua have been awarded more than $65,000.

Organizations awarded include The Edison Foundation, Friends of Piqua Parks, Piqua Catholic Schools and the Piqua Police Department.

The grants have been awarded by the Piqua Community Foundation and are part of the foundation’s twice-annual standard grant cycles from unrestricted funds, according to a release.

Piqua Police Chief Rick Byron said in a release the grants will allow the police department to purchase supplies and be able to rejuvenate the Careful Corners Program for children.

The foundation’s next grant cycle deadline is Sept. 30.
