Piqua man accused of stealing packages off porches; Police ask: Is this your stuff?

UPDATE @ 9 p.m.

Piqua police released several images Friday night showing stolen items they recovered after the arrest of a suspect accused of lifting packages off front porches.

“If anyone in the Piqua area (walking distance of downtown) recently had a package stolen, we’d like them to be sure to make a report so we can match some property we have recovered,” Piqua Police Chief Bruce Jamison said.

To make a theft report, contact the Miami County 911 dispatch center, 937-440-9911.

On Thursday, police arrested Ricky Cross, who is accused of stealing packages off two front porches on West North Street and Caldwell Street. The 39-year-old man, who Jamison said is homeless, pleaded not guilty Friday in Miami County Municipal Court.

A Piqua man has is facing charges for allegedly stealing packages off front porches in Piqua this week.

Ricky Cross, 39, pleaded not guilty in a Miami County court Friday to stealing packages from the porches of two Piqua homes.

A neighbor notified police, which, led to Cross' arrest.

Cross’ bond is $8,500 on a variety of additional theft offenses.
