MONTGOMERY COUNTY — The Dayton Police Department announced that a sobriety checkpoint will take place in Montgomery County this weekend.
OVI Task Force of Mont. Co. will operate a sobriety checkpoint this upcoming weekend. Location is TBA.

From January 2018 to June 1, 2021, there were nearly 1,700 alcohol & 745 drug related crashes in Mont. Co. 61 of those crashes resulted in fatalities in our city.#DriveSober pic.twitter.com/T84lJktGUe
In accordance with Ohio law, the location of the checkpoint will be released prior to this weekend.
The police department also noted that there were nearly 1,700 alcohol and 745 drug related crashes in Montgomery County from January 2018 to June 1, 2021. Sixty-one of those crashes resulted in fatalities, they said.
