Overnight strong winds cause damage across Miami Valley

We are receiving multiple reports of weather damage due to strong winds and storms passing through the Miami Valley overnight.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY:

There have been multiple reports of trees down across Montgomery County this morning.

  • At the intersection of Phillipsburg Union Road and Diamond Mill Road in Englewood around 5:30 a.m.
  • At the intersection of Main Street and Wolf Creek Pike at Air Hill Road, a tree was reported down around 5:30 a.m.
  • Crews responded to a report of a power line that fell into a tree near Dayton-Liberty Road in Dayton around 5:30 a.m.

  • A tree is reported down and across the roadway at Farmington Road at Jamaica Road in German Township.
  • A tree was reported down at Rahn Road in Washington Township around 6:10 a.m. Crews with chainsaws were requested to the scene.
  • Trees have also been reported down across the County in Trotwood and Clay Township.

DARKE COUNTY:

There have been multiple reports of trees and power lines down across Darke County.

  • AES Ohio has requested the Dark County sheriff’s office to help shut down U.S. 127 near Arcanum Hollansburg Road around 8 a.m. so a tree can be removed.

New Madison and Versailles are reporting multiple trees down across their areas.

CLARK COUNTY:

Clark County also has reports of power lines and trees down due to the high winds.

A large tree was reportedly downed near Graham Street in Moorefield sometime around 5:30 a.m.

A News Center 7 viewer reported having their mobile home destroyed when a tree crashed down on it,
