Overnight fire destroys house in Dayton; Officials say squatters likely to blame

DAYTON — Crews have extinguished a house fire that happened overnight on the 2100 block of Ome Avenue in Dayton.

Emergancy crews arrived on the scene around 3:00 a.m. Thursday and reported seeing heavy smoke.

The house was supposed to be vacant, but there were homeless people staying inside, officials said.

Fire crews on scene say there have been no reported injuries.
