Greenville woman identified as victim killed in Miami County crash involving tractor

MIAMI COUNTY — A Greenville woman died from her injuries after a crash involving her car and a tractor on a rural Miami County road Wednesday afternoon, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

Tina L. Streuver, 83, from Greenville, was identified by the Miami County Coroner’s Office Thursday afternoon as the victim killed in the crash.

The crash was reported around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 36 and state Route 721, on the border of Miami and Darke counties. Emergency crews from both counties were called to the scene, according to our news partners at AIM Media Midwest.

A preliminary investigation found the driver of the John Deere tractor, traveling south on state Route 721, didn’t notice and pulled into the path of a Nissan car, driven by Streuver, traveling east on U.S. 36. The car crashed into the tractor, which trapped Streuver inside and overturned the tractor, deputies said.

“It was determined neither the tractor, nor oncoming Nissan were able to avoid the collision,” deputies said in a public information log.

Streuver was rescued from her car and taken to Upper Valley Medical Center with serious injuries. However she died from her injuries while waiting for a CareFlight medical helicopter to take her to a Dayton hospital, deputies said.

The driver of the tractor, who deputies say was a 16-year-old, was treated and released at the scene, deputies said.
