The additional lane was added to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety in the area, according to a release.
In a release, Chris Kreshner, President and chief executive officer of Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, said the highway is also a key artery from downtown Dayton to Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
The cost of the project was estimated to cost $13.2 million and construction began in 2020, according to ODOT.
