Nurse aide facing felony charge, accused of assaulting 78-year-old in Kettering

KETTERING — A grand jury indicted a nurse aide at the Oaks of West Kettering on a felony charge of patient abuse, records show.

Kaneesha Howard, 25, of Dayton, is being ordered to appear on the charge in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court later this month.

According to prosecutors, Howard is accused of assaulting the 78-year-old resident at the facility on June 4. Additional details on the incident were not immediately available.

News Center 7 has reached out to Capital Health Care Networ, who runs the facility, to see what action the nursing home has taken following the allegations of abuse.

Howard is due in court on March 16.
