The 29-year-old mom told Dayton police Monday that a male acquaintance took her son's debit card from a mailbox sometime between Nov. 25 and 30, according to a Dayton police incident report filed Tuesday.

The card had $750 on it, she told police. According to the incident report, the child is 3 or 4 years old.

The mom contacted the local Social Security Administration office, where an official told her the card had been activated under the name of the acquaintance on Nov. 30. The government official then canceled the card and gave the mom a list of transactions made with the card before it was deactivated:

Nov. 30: $505.50 and $5.50 from the ATM at Hollywood Casino

Nov. 30: $203 from the Santa Fe Lounge Beavercreek ATM

Nov. 30: $13.98 from the Marathon on Wagner Ford Road

Nov. 30 through Dec. 6: $480 from the Red Roof Inn

Police officers who submitted the report wrote that "it should be noted that (name of acquaintance) won $1,237 with the stolen money at the casino."

According to the mom, the casino held onto the cash because the man owed back child support.

As of Tuesday night, there has been no word of the man's arrest. According to the incident report, police will pursue a felony theft charge.
