Homicide suspect indicted on additional charge of grand theft auto

DAYTON — A man accused of a fatal stabbing also has been charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.

Laron N. Cunningham was indicted Wednesday on the theft charge. He is accused of taking the gray 2005 Honda Odyssey on Dec. 8, 2018, the same day he also is accused of fatally stabbing the 60-year-old Michael Oliver inside Oliver’s West Fifth Street apartment in Dayton.

Cunningham is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

He has been held without bond since Dec. 9 in the Montgomery County Jail.
