Man indicted in connection to 2016 Trotwood shooting death

DAYTON — A 24-year-old man was indicted Thursday in connection to an August 2016 fatal shooting case in Trotwood.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Thaire (pronounced TY-ree) Grissom, last known to live in Dayton, who faces tampering with evidence and a weapons charge, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

Trotwood police arrested and questioned Grissom, then 22, following the Aug. 16, 2016, shooting of 32-year-old D’juan Norvell outside the Sesame Club Apartments off West Third Street in Trotwood.

Police said at the time they believed the motive in the shooting was a robbery arising from an illegal drug transaction between Grissom and Norvell. However, Grissom has never been charged in Norvell’s death.
