DARKE COUNTY — A man was flown by CareFlight to the hospital following a crash in Darke County Saturday afternoon.

Deputies along with Union City Fire and Rescue were dispatched around 12:20 p.m. to the 1600 block of State Route 571 on report of a one-vehicle crash and found the driver unresponsive, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s spokesperson.
Rodney Lease, 44 of Greenville, was driving his 2004 Ford Escape on State Route 571 when he drove off the right side of the road and sideswiped a utility pole. He continued through a yard and field and hit a tree.
A preliminary investigation revealed possible drug use as a contributing factor in the crash, a spokesperson said.
CareFlight transported Lease to Miami Valley Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
