Arrest made in connection to deadly shooting on Highland Avenue in Dayton

DAYTON — Dayton police have made an arrest connected to the deadly shooting on Highland Avenue Tuesday, according to a police incident report.

Victor Raymond Selmon, 28, was arrested on Highland Avenue Tuesday on a preliminary charge of murder, jail records show.

Selmon’s arrest was made after Juan Moore, 25, of Dayton was shot and killed just before noon Tuesday, according to a Dayton police incident report.

Moore was found dead by an officer on routine patrol in the area of Highland and Buchanan avenues, investigators previously said.

Greene County court records show Moore had been due in court for sentencing last Friday on two gun-related charges, but hadn’t shown up to his sentencing.
