A preliminary investigation revealed Corey S. Thompson, of Arcanum, was driving a black Chevrolet Cruz east on Hollansburg-Sampson Road when the crash occurred.

Thompson lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole and came to a stop in a field at approximately 1:15 a.m., the release stated.

The crash caused power lines to be pulled from a nearby residence.

He was treated at the crash site by Arcanum rescue before being placed under arrest.

Thompson was transported to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office where he remains in custody on a $2,025 bond.
