Man who touched girl’s backside at Kettering Speedway convicted

KETTERING — A Kettering man who grabbed a girl’s backside at a Speedway station last month pleaded guilty to sexual imposition and disorderly conduct Friday morning in Kettering Municipal Court.

Barry O’Neal, 51, was arrested by Kettering police after a warrant was issued for his arrest following the Oct. 28 incident at the store, 3201 Wilmington Pike.

O’Neal “followed and watched two 13-year-old females in the store,” court records read.

He initially was charged with four counts of sexual imposition and two counts of disorderly conduct, court records showed.

However, as part of today’s plea, two counts of sexual imposition were dropped.

“The girls approached the register to pay for their items and O’Neal also stepped up to the counter,” a Kettering police detective wrote in a statement of facts filed in Kettering court.  “While O’Neal was standing next to one of the 13-year-old females … he grabbed the female on her buttocks with his left hand,” the officer wrote.

Court records said the girls stayed inside the store because they were afraid of O’Neal.

O’Neal followed the girls in the store and cornered the same 13-year-old by the ATM and grabbed her buttocks a second time.

The girl yelled at O’Neal and police said he fled the store.

O’Neal is scheduled for sentencing Jan. 2 and could face a maximum of 180 days in jail.
