The Cork-N-Bottle Mini Market and American Grill at 881 E. Franklin St. just east of Centerville High School is on the market for $150,000, according to SunbeltNetwork.com, a web site that specializes in selling businesses.
Co-owner Tim Maxwell, who has operated the business for nearly six years with business partner and co-owner Tracy Dixon, confirmed to this news outlet today, Nov. 26, that he and his partner are looking to sell the business.
Here’s how the web site describes the convenience store and lunch spot, which was established in 1973:
“The Cork-N-Bottle name is well known in the city of Centerville. Besides selling beer and wine, lottery (tickets) and cigarettes, the store stocks grocery convenience items, and has a nice kitchen/deli with cook-to-order deli business.”
“Their neighborhood customers come from all over, but St. Leonard's retirement community are faithful clients, as well as the local high school directly across the street, and many lawn care (employees) and people who work outdoors. They also sell live bait (and) have an independent ATM.”

Maxwell said he and his partner have put a lot of money into repairs and improvements since they purchased the store in 2013.
Russ and Marie Highley owned and operated the store for many years before the current owners, and in 2010, Marie Highley told the Dayton Daily News: “We’re also one of the oldest mom-and-pop stores in the Dayton area. We know our customers and that, plus our excellent service, makes us special.”
