NASHVILLE — An engine of a passenger plane bound for Cincinnati caught fire while taxiing for takeoff in Nashville on Friday morning.
According to our partners at WCPO, “an auxiliary power unit inside the engine of a Skywest aircraft burst into flames as the jet began to taxi down a runway around 6:45 a.m. at the Nashville International Airport.”
According to Shannon Sumrall, the Nashville airport’s spokeswoman, the fire extinguished itself when the pilot turned off the plane’s engines. The jet is a Delta Airlines connector flight.
