Increased police presence at Huber Heights school after ‘WHS’ threat posted

HUBER HEIGHTS — Wayne High School has an increased police and security presence today after a post on social media threatening a shooting at a “WHS.”

"After investigating, district administration does not believe the post is a credible threat to students in our district," said a statement posted to the Huber Heights City Schools website. "We have reached out to Huber Heights police for further verification."

The district does not believe the original poster of the threat is a Wayne student or that they posted a threat to students, said a district spokesperson.

“The poster could be located anywhere in the world, talking about a ‘WHS’ located anywhere,” said the district’s statement. “...There will be an increased police and security presence at Wayne High School to ensure the safety of students [Friday]. HHCS considers student and staff safety our top priority.”
