Impaired driver pleads guilty, sentenced to prison

XENIA — An impaired driver who caused serious injury to an adult and child in an accident last May was sentenced to four years in prison.

Kevin R. Sanchez-Rodas, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of Aggravated Vehicular Assault in a Greene County Common Pleas Court on Friday, according to Prosecuting Attorney David D. Hayes.

Court records stated at approximately midnight on on May 4, 2020, Sanchez-Rodas was driving the wrong way on SR 444 in Fairborn, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base when he struck another vehicle head on. The crash caused serious injury to the driver and a child passenger.

Sanchez-Rodas appeared to be impaired when speaking with Troopers on scene. A urine sampled revealed that he was intoxicated when the crash occurred.

It was revealed that Sanchez-Rodas is a non-citizen. Following the completion of his sentence, he may be removed from the country.
